Clamping range

If the diameter of the collet does not fit the component, it is called clamping range. If the component is too large the collet only clamps in the rear area and does not completely enclose the component. It is only point-shaped clamping and runout errors occur. If the component is too small, the collet clamps in the front area and cannot absorb the full forces.
